Welcome to the Indigenous Peoples Movement
Hau Mitakuyepi. Welcome to the Indigenous Peoples Movement website. I’m Shaun Little Horn, Executive Director of this global collective. I’m thrilled that you’ve chosen to learn more about us and the work we do to advocate for the rights, dignity, and cultures of Indigenous Peoples worldwide.
Our movement was born during the Indigenous Peoples March in 2019, a momentous event that brought together Indigenous communities from across the globe. That day marked the beginning of our journey, a journey rooted in respect, recognition, and advocacy for the diverse Indigenous cultures that enrich our world.
As we continue this important work, I am constantly reminded of the strength of our shared resolve and the power of unified voices. Together, we’ve made strides in policy advocacy, raised awareness about the critical issues facing Indigenous Peoples, and built networks of solidarity that span continents.
Despite the progress we’ve made, we recognize that there is much more to be done. The challenges Indigenous Peoples face are complex and multifaceted – from land rights and environmental protection to cultural preservation. Each of these issues requires our steadfast attention and determined action.
This is where you come in. The strength of our movement lies in the passion and commitment of individuals like you. Whether you’re a member of an Indigenous community, an ally, or someone just beginning to learn about these issues, your involvement makes a difference. We invite you to explore our website, learn more about our initiatives, and find out how you can contribute to our cause.
Thank you for joining us in our mission to uplift and empower Indigenous Peoples. Together, we can shape a more just and inclusive world. We are excited to have you on this journey with us.
