Indigenous Peoples Movement is Now a PVSA Certified Organization
The Indigenous Peoples Movement (IPM) is thrilled to announce our certification by the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program, a significant recognition of our commitment to unity, culture, and respect among Indigenous communities. This certification opens up a world of opportunity for our volunteers to gain national recognition for their hard work and dedication. Here’s how you can join the movement, make an impact, and earn prestigious awards for your service.
About PVSA Certification
The PVSA program honors individuals and groups that achieve a specific standard of volunteer service within a 12-month period. As a certified organization, IPM can nominate volunteers for awards, acknowledging their contributions to our cause and the wider community at a national level.
Qualifying for an Award
Step 1: Volunteer with IPM
Join us as a volunteer to start making a difference. We offer diverse opportunities that cater to your passion, whether it’s environmental conservation, cultural preservation, or community education.
Step 2: Log Your Hours
Keep track of your volunteer hours. The PVSA is awarded based on the total hours of service within a 12-month period, and we provide the necessary tools to help you report your hours accurately.
Step 3: Engage in Various Projects
Diversify your experience and impact by getting involved in multiple projects. This not only enriches your volunteering journey but also helps accumulate the required hours for an award.
Step 4: Meet the Hourly Requirements
To be eligible for a PVSA, volunteers must meet the following hourly requirements within a 12-month period:
- Kids (ages 5-14): 50 to 100 hours
- Teens (ages 15-19): 75 to 100 hours
- Adults (age 20 and older): 100 to 250 hours
- Families and Groups: 200 to 500 hours
PVSA Award Levels
The PVSA recognizes varying levels of service achievement:
- Bronze: For those who meet the minimum required hours for their age group.
- Silver: For volunteers who exceed the minimum requirements by a significant margin.
- Gold: For the highest level of service in each age category, reflecting an exceptional commitment to community service.
- Lifetime Achievement Award: A special recognition for individuals who have completed 4,000 or more volunteer hours over their lifetime, showcasing a lifelong commitment to volunteerism and community service.
Step 5: Receive Nomination and Award
IPM will nominate eligible volunteers at the end of the year. Award recipients receive an official PVSA pin, a personalized certificate, and a congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.
Why Volunteer with IPM?
